Morning 9:30-11:00
 
- INTRODUCTION: What are Customs Entries and who can complete them?
- RULES AND REGULATIONS: Understanding HMRC and Border Force roles
- HOW TRADERS ARE IDENTIFIED: – EORI, VAT No., UCR, MRN’S, UCN
- LEGAL DECLARATION: Who can make a customs declarations; responsibilities and penalties, the extra responsibilities for imports
- CUSTOMS ENTRY DOCUMENTS: e.g. Single Administration Document (SAD), CHIEF (and the CDS replacement) using Simplified Procedures, CFSP, TS and customs warehousing
- BASIC PROCEDURES FOR CLAIMING  CUSTOMS, AIR(PORT) AND CARRIERS AND THE CSPs AND BADGES REQUIRED

- THE UK TARIFF VOLUME 3: Entry completion rules
- Guided walk through an iMport Declaration and create an import entry

Afternoon 13:30-15:00
 
- BOX BY BOX ENTRY COMPLETION RULES: Exercise completing export entry
- GETTING IT RIGHT FIRST TIME, EVERYTIME
- DECLARING IMPORT LICENCES AND CONTROLS: Why LIC99 isn’t ideal
- DECLARING ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CODES: Using Special Procedures, eg IP, OP, RGR and the link to AI Codes and Authorisation
- CUSTOMS PROCEDURE CODES: The main CPCs and how to understand them
 
Afternoon 15:15-16:30
 
- HEADER AND ITEM LEVEL INFORMATION
- COMPLETE AN IMPORT DECLARATION: Exercise complete a simple export entry
- CUSTOMS DUTY & VAT PAYMENTS
- Post entry amendments: Form C285 and C2001 – when you use them
- WHERE TO GO FOR ADVICE
 
At the end of the one-day training delegates will be able to complete standard import declarations and know where to go for further advise though use of individual logistics/ intermediaries software used to link to CHIEF/CDS will not be included as they are too varied. The course has been fully up-dated to include all customs procedures changes.  Each delegate will receive a full, bound set of course notes.
